ポーランド研修旅行中には、在ポーランド日本国大使館を訪問する機会がありました。日本とポーランドの橋渡しをされている河野大使は、ポーランド・ナザレ校と本校の交流にも関心をお持ちで、3月の日本帰国時には本校を訪問されました（その際の様子はこちら）。

大使館の中に足を踏み入れると、様々な日本の調度品が飾られていて、各国の要人をお迎えする場であることが感じられました。

その後、河野大使と懇談させていただきました。高校生としてポーランドに来て印象に残ったこと、驚いたことなどの質問がありました。大使は生徒の回答を温かく聞き入れてくださり、とても和やかな時間となりました。

大使からは、日本とポーランドは地理的にとても離れているが似通っているところも多い、また歳を重ねてからくると見え方も違うと思うので、ぜひ訪れてほしいとメッセージをいただきました。

生徒がこれからの人生において、大使のように、日本とポーランドの架け橋となることを願います。

During our study tour in Poland, we had the opportunity to visit the Embassy of Japan in Warsaw. Ambassador Kono, who has fostered relations between Japan and Poland, has taken a genuine interest in our ongoing exchange program with Nazareth School. He had visited our school during his recent visit to Japan in March.

Upon entering the embassy, we were greeted by traditional Japanese furnishings that reflected a sense of cultural pride and diplomatic significance.

Following a brief tour of the Embassy, Ambassador Kono invited the students to a conversation inquiring what had surprised or impressed them most during their stay in Poland. He listened attentively to each response, creating a thoughtful and engaging dialogue.

The Ambassador spoke about the many commonalities between Japan and Poland despite the geographical distance between the two countries. He encouraged the students to return to Poland later in life, where their perspectives would evolve as they gained more life experience.

It is our hope that this inspiring experience will encourage our students to become bridges between cultures, just as Ambassador Kono exemplifies in his diplomatic work.
