Our volunteer club, S club (“S“ means Soroptimist International ) collected donations this morning in front of our school. They asked for donations from many students and teachers, there were also some kind people who got out of their cars to donate money. Money collected by the Ashinaga student fundraising activities provides financial support to orphan students, and helps pay for their education. This activity is also important for our students, it encourages them to think about their own future careers, and to think carefully about the meaning of the activity.

本日は朝から本校のボランティアクラブ、Sクラブ（Sはソロプチミストの頭文字）のメンバーを中心に募金活動を実施しました。

正門と東門付近で募金箱を持ち幟を立て、登校する生徒や先生方、さらには学校前を通行する方々にも募金を呼びかけました。なかには、わざわざ車から降りて来て、一つ一つの募金箱に協力してくださった方もおられました。

あしなが学生募金とは、学生による遺児を支援するための募金活動で、交通遺児支援から始まり現在は病気・災害・自死などで親を亡くした子どもや、サブサハラ・アフリカの遺児を支援しています。募金事務局のメンバーの多くは、「あしなが育英会」の奨学金を利用して進学した遺児学生とのことです。特に大学進学など進路決定が近づいてきた生徒が、この機会に各々の環境等様々なことを感じながら活動に協力してくれたことでしょう。

募金活動中、早朝より国際ソロプチミスト姫路会長の小林様、50周年記念特別委員会委員長の東海様に募金と活動応援にご来校いただきました。心より御礼申し上げます。
